There’s a Whole Lot of Mental Illness in Washington D.C.

You can see it, can’t you; the strange faces, the flat affects, the bizarre reactivity, the pathological lying, common signs of drug and alcohol abuse, the arrogant narcissism, the deviant sexual proclivities, and at times wild fits? I look around at the people in my neighborhood, in my colleges, at my grocery store, at the Amish market, at my gas station, and even just driving up the road, and I do not see what I see on most of the faces of my D.C. “representatives”. Something in Washington attracts or creates pathology.

I have also seen certain faces that radiate coldness, callousness; maybe even evil. And it’s not like we haven’t given D.C. politicians and bureaucrats the benefits of every doubt for decades and decades and decades, because we have; but, there is unequivocally something dark and very bizarre in the minds and ways of most of those people. They simply do not act normally.

As a teacher and former counselor, I have had direct contact every kind of person with every kind of problem, but I have rarely seen markedly abnormal and abject artifice as is typical in the D.C. halls of power. What is so disconcerting is that they are obviously off, and their illegalities and decisions are equally bizarre and very telling. The abnormal thinking and actions are as clear as a bell.

This is another dilemma that the American people must acknowledge. There is way too much deviancy in the halls of power in the United States, which is no doubt why “they” took over and dominate the mental health and drug industrial complex, and why we, the normal ones, are now force-drugged and force-diagnosed with mental illnesses for perfectly normal human behaviors, children included.

Perhaps we should begin by implementing frequent and random drug and alcohol testing for every member of the executive, judicial and legislative branches of government. Perhaps full-fledged psychiatric evaluations should be mandatory for any person who intends to run for office or who is currently elected or appointed to office. Something should be done because, clearly, something is wrong with a whole lot of those folks who, and without any consideration to their legal checks and balances, to constitutional law, or to standard practices of moral and ethical conduct, clearly do not operate within the limits of normalcy. Food for thought…
