Trump's Paris Climate Announcement: You've Been Played Again!

On Friday, June 1st, 2017, Trump announced that he would pull the United States out of the Paris Climate Agreement. Well, sort of. As it turns out, the announcement is anything but a victory for freedom-loving patriots.

As media coverage went wild about Trump's decision to revoke U.S. participation in the accord, the result of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCC) conference held in France in December 2015, the left predictably excoriated Trump, while the right were about ready to anoint him king. Both sides got it wrong.

Trump's announcement is anything but a defeat for leftist / environmentalist extremist scam artists who stand to make a fortune off of carbon emission caps by taxing people for their use of the air. Nor is it a win for the patriotic Americans, who care about their individual liberty.

First, it is necessary to point out that Trump did not and could not pull us out of the Paris Climate Accord, because as a nation, we were never actually in it. Treaties have to be ratified by the U.S. Senate. Since this one wasn't, "pulling us out" amounts to nothing more than a symbolic political move.

Secondly, for those celebrating the President's courageous, moral fortitude to do the right thing for our country and its people, perhaps you should listen more carefully to what the president actually said. Quoting from the speech:

"In order to fulfill my solumn duty to protect America and its citizens, the United States will withdraw from the Paris Climate Accord but begin negotiations to reenter either the Paris accord or an entirely new transaction on terms that are fair to the United States, its businesses, its workers, its people, its taxpayers. So we're getting out, but we'll start to negotiate, and we'll see if we can make a deal that's fair."

We're getting out, but we're going to negotiate our way back in? That doesn't sound very encouraging. The reality is that Trump is bowing to the global warming propagandists, Establishment fake news media, and the bogus "consensus" of anthropogenic greenhouse warming. The notion that mankind is damaging the environment by emitting too much CO2 is based upon nothing more than fraud and a massive media proganda campaign. The only "deal" that would be "fair", is no deal at all! Giving any ground in this arena is legitimizing a fraud upon the American people and is a tyrannical and grevous injustice to the People — especially those who trusted Trump to do the right thing. But you wouldn't know that by listening most talk show hosts who are turning more flips than a Barnum & Bailey circus acrobat. I wonder how many of them actually read the agreement.

Article 6 of the Paris climate agreement says,

"Parties recognize that some Parties choose to pursue voluntary cooperation in the implementation of their nationally determined contributions to allow for higher ambition in their mitigation and adaptation actions and to promote sustainable development and environmental integrity."

This is a clause that Obama cleverly pushed to get added to the agreement, so local governments could participate on a "voluntary" basis. The problem, of course, is that if your city, town, or county government volunteers, then your participation then becomes compulsory. This language is a way of bypassing Congress, and bypassing the office of the president. So it doesn't really matter what Trump does. He can say he's pulling the U.S. out of the agreement, but when cities, towns, and counties all across the country volunteer into the agreement, it will bind most of the U.S. population, despite what Trump says or does. The only thing that Trump could do about this is to attempt to starve such cities of federal funds who participate in the implementation of the agreement on a voluntary basis. This approach would require a genuine commitment at killing the whole carbon trading regime. Listening to what he actually said in his speech, this writer sees little evidence of that commitment.

Real science isn't formed by consensus. Consensus is the exact opposite of real science. Real science is constantly questioning, challenging existing paradigms, and attempting to disprove them. The global warming goons have done nothing but bully scientists to go along with their fraud, regardless of the facts. Scentists who don't go along, don't get funding in the form of government grants, and they are the targets of bullying, threats, and intimidation.

The ClimateGate e-mail scandal proves the conspiracy to cook the data to make it appear to prove human activity is warming the planet. They will stop at nothing to put their carbon taxation framework in place. There is a whole industry waiting in the wings to profit from this scheme — all at the expense of the working poor, what we used to call the middle class.

Therefore, any recognition, on the part of the Trump administration, of a need to tax or mitigate CO2 as a means to deal with climate change, is an insult to the truth, a slap in the face for those who supported him, and another knife in the gut of liberty. We don't need renegotiated climate agreements any more than we need to renegotiate NAFTA. These international instruments were evil from beginning to end, and the only solution is to forever kill them.
