A Deceitful Peace

I found this sign at a gas station in Leslie, Michigan. Immediately, its message brought to mind thoughts of the UN "peacekeepers", dispatched to various parts of the globe, overthrowing governments, killing innocent people, and destroying infrastructure — all for profits and to consolidate and maintain Establishment power. The 1961 documents, Blueprint for the Peace Race, and State Department Publication 7277, calling for general and complete disarmament in a peaceful world, came to mind. Their "peaceful world" would be accomplished through a global UN "peace force" — a global military, fighting wars to disarm any people or nation who dared challenge their power. Peacekeeping? If those who want to hang onto their sovereignty are unable to fight back, defending themselves, it would indeed be peaceful for the oppressors. Deceitful indeed!

History is littered with wars that have been fought for nothing else than the propping up of the U.S. Federal Reserve petrodollar, along with the furtherance of other wealthy American business interests. Chief among them are big oil companies like Marathon. Politicians are routinely and historically rewarded, handsomely, to keep the revenue flowing, regardless of what countries and people might stand in their way. It doesn't matter who or what may be destroyed in the process.

No, Marathon. Nothing is more horrific and hurtful than open war. However, in this age of Orwellian double-speak, "deceitful peace" is open war.
