THE COVENANT WITH DEATH

Part V

In our last installment of The Covenant With Death, we elaborated on the Spiritual configuration of the BC era kingdoms, and how the Scriptures clearly communicate the presence of Spiritual entities associated with these political dominions.

We also saw an angelic presence interacting with the prophet Daniel, named as the angel Michael, was also identified in the text as “your prince” (Daniel 10:21). 

The Bible tells us Michael is further identified as “one of the chief princes” (Daniel 10:13), so it is evident that this particular angel has an association with Israel. What is often overlooked is the fact that Daniel’s messenger angel tells Daniel his task in relating understanding to Daniel, includes what will happen to Daniel’s people in “the latter days.”

“Now I am come to make thee understand what shall befall thy people in the latter days: for yet the vision is for many days” (Daniel 10:14).

Since Israel had already decisively turned against the LORD long before the time of Daniel in that timeline, and Daniel lived during the Babylonian captivity (which was the Lord’s punishment for Israel’s apostasy), Israel had already embarked upon the path that culminated in the “Covenant with Death” spoken of by the earlier prophet Isaiah.

Thus, it is not obvious if it was the “latter days” of that BC timeline that was in view, or the “latter days” of a successive timeline (or both). In any event, when Old Covenant Israel was deeply immersed in apostasy, the prophet Isaiah pronounced the word of the Lord.

“Hear the word of the Lord, ye scornful men, that rule this people which is in Jerusalem. Because ye have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement” (Isaiah 28:14,15).

It is evident one of the challenges of prophecy is to place the context of statements like these, and so it is very important that we track the stages in Scripture where the LORD has revealed his “strange work” takes place.

“For the Lord shall rise up as in mount Perizim, he shall be wroth as in the valley of Gibeon, that he may do his work, his strange work; and bring to pass his act, his strange act” (Isaiah 28:21).

In a previous chapter, we have pinpointed when the Covenant with Death that Israel makes will occur, because of adjacent statements made by Isaiah related to the “agreement” with Hell and the Covenant itself.

“When the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us” (Isaiah 28:15).

However, we first discovered the placement of the “Covenant” was in the AD Christian era where we discern it references reborn Spiritual Israel and the Rapture Cult, which has developed false prophecy that is related to the doubling of the trajectory of BC era Old Covenant Israel.

The essence of Rapture Cult doctrine is described in the surrounding verses of the prophecy.

“[The tribulation] shall not come unto us: for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves” (Isaiah 28:15).

This is not the first time we’ve known of an event in one timeline, but had yet to be aware of the details in the Prophetic Parallel in the adjacent timeline. We have previously noted, for example, how the extensive details of the 6,7,8 Cycle in the crossover from the BC era to AD timeline triggered further probing. 

Many Christian Medians are aware that although the LORD had conclusively revealed the two quartets of kingdoms in Daniel 2 --- Babylon, Persia, Greece, and Rome – are Prophetic Parallels of England, Russia, Germany, and America (the Lion, Bear, Leopard, and Diverse beast of Daniel 7) – but for some time we weren’t sure of Assyria’s Prophetic Parallel in the AD Christian era.

In this regard, it’s instructive to review our steps in discovering the 2^nd kingdom in AD era was Catholic Spain.

What we were certain of was the fact that Assyria followed Egypt, so we determined to study the Old Testament era kingdom of Assyria. Recognizing that God had guided our steps, we remembered some of the details which had emerged in the revisionist history of Assyria which was in the suppressed work of Immanuel Velikovsky, a work entitled The Assyrian Conquest.

It turned out that Assyria had a religious relationship with the false deity Ashur. Some of their kings had their compound god name as well, such as Ashurbanipal, and Ashurnasirpal, etc. There seems to be a connotation with the concept of assurance.

We then found that in some instances, this “god” name was render asir, which led us to osir, as in Osirus the main Egyptian deity. In other words, some writings indicated Egyptian and Assyrian religion were related. Thus, in searching for which empire had a related religion to Roman Catholicism (that came after Rome, but before England, the “lion” imagery of Daniel 7) made it obvious that it had to be the decidedly Catholic empire of Spain. 

If we had an intimate familiarity with all of Assyrian history, we might be able to find an Assyrian princess that was betrothed (or married) to one of the Babylonian kings – thus Prophetically Paralleling the Spanish princess  who was given in a political marriage to Henry VIII of England!

Many know that in the Christian era, Henry discarded his arranged marriage to Catharine of Aragon, replacing her with Anne Boleyn who had promised the king she could give him a son. Catharine was a devout Catholic, but Boleyn was a Protestant, which allows a glimpse into the dynamics of religion in the parallel of  Babylon, which was closely tied to Assyria, yet they followed Nebo (as in Nebuchadnezzar and Nabopolassar instead of Assur.

The humiliating marital sleight endured by Catherine after over 20 years of marriage to Henry VIII greatly contributed to the rage of the Spanish throne, when the later royal, King Phillip II, launched the famous Spanish Armada in an attempt to conquer England, and compel the British to be brought back into the fold of the Pope!

This well known historical episode may very well be alluded to in Daniel 11:

“And in the end of years they shall join themselves together; for the king’s daughter of the south shall come to the king of the north to make an agreement: but she shall not retain the power of the arm; neither shall he stand nor his arm: but she shall be given up, and they that brought her, and he that begat her, and he that strengtheneth her in these times” (Daniel 11:6).

Catharine of Aragon was the daughter of Ferdinand II and Isabella I, the King and Queen who dispatched Christopher Columbus to the new world.

Even a brief look at a map of Europe shows Spain is directly South of England. These chronological kingdom identifications are confirmed with the sequence seen in the cycle when the far more powerful Assyrian army invaded Jerusalem, and was surprisingly destroyed.

“And the king of Assyria sent Rabshakeh from Lachish to Jerusalem unto King Hezekiah with a great army” (Isaiah 36:2).

Boasting that God was on his side, the arrogant Assyrian clearly Prophetically Paralleled Phillip’s confidence in his Spanish Naval forces.

“[The Assyrian said] am I now come up without the Lord against this land to destroy it? The Lord said unto me, Go up against this land, and destroy it” (Isaiah 36:10).

In other words, the Assyrian claim that God was on their side when they threatened Jerusalem, is connected to Spain invading England because they were convinced the Protestants were heretics!

The prophet Isaiah said the superior Assyrian host would be miraculously defeated, citing the Lord’s words.

“The king of Assyria…shall not come into this city…behold, I will send a blast upon him…then the angel of the Lord went forth , and smote in the camp of the Assyrians a hundred and fourscore and five thousand: and when they arose early in the morning, they were all dead corpses” (Isaiah 37:7,36).

When the Spanish Armada sailed against England, it was considered the most powerful naval force in the world, yet a series of mysterious windstorms blew the sailing ships off course, as the upstart Protestant power of England pulled out a stunning upset victory against Spain.

The Twin Timelines are further validated when we realize the Old Testament sequence was clearly related to military movements on the land, whereas the New Testament era Prophetic Parallels are specifically stated to originate on the sea. The text tells us the Assyrians were all camped outside Jerusalem when they were miraculously decimated, whereas it’s obvious the pivotal battle between Spain and England was on the sea. We’ve extensively commented on this aspect of prophecy in studies usually labeled The Sand and the Sea. 

In this regard, the reader will recall the Old Testament chronology was symbolized with the land based “statue” dream of Nebuchadnezzar, as well as the explicit mention of the “land” the Assyrian host said the LORD sent them to destroy.

“Am I now come up without the Lord against this land to destroy it?” (Isaiah 36:10).

The Prophetic Parallel of this cycle is specifically stated to be related to what we now see to be Christian era kingdoms that came up “from the sea.”

“Four great beasts came up from the sea, diverse one from another” (Daniel 7:3).

One final thought is in order. Whereas the Assyrians threatened the Old Covenant people of the LORD which was obviously Physical Israel – as seen in the siege against the cherished Jewish city of Jerusalem -- the people the LORD intervened to rescue from the overwhelming power of Spain were not the British.

The Lord actually rescued the earthly vessels hosting the Spiritual body of Christ, which is characterized as “New Jerusalem” in the New Testament – and the English were the earthly beneficiaries of that intervention.

The Protestants of England who wanted to get back to the Bible hosted the Born Again mystical body of Christ, whereas the Scriptures tell us the Spiritually regenerated “Israel” is now seated in the heavens, with Christ indwelling them, at the right hand of the Father.

“[God] hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: in whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord” (Ephesians 2:6, 21).

Thus, although the earthly kingdoms are utilized in the Scriptures in a pattern that illustrates the Prophetic Parallels are a significant phenomenon repeated in the New Testament timeline, it is crucial that we see the kingdom of God is actually in the Spiritual realm.

This underscores just why the “Church” resists this epic truth, as it militates that the Christians are a Spiritually regenerated version of Israel. Furthermore, this revelatory information demonstrates that the body of Christ is Sequentially Recapitulating the historic steps of Physical Israel, in a supernatural series of stages that can be discerned in a fashion that includes a degree of predictability.
